President attends festivity with 15,000 people.

Sep. 18--President Traian Basescu, accompanied by his daughter Elena Basescu, attended the ceremonies yesterday marking 134 years since the death of national hero Avram Iancu, in the village of Tebea, Hunedoara Country.

The festivities were also attended by Social Democratic Party's President Mircea Geoana, New Generation Party's leader Gigi Becali, and the head of the Greater Romania Party, Corneliu Vadim Tudor.

After laying a wreath of flowers at Avram Iancu's grave, the president started to talk to the people and shake hands with them, while his daughter was assaulted by fans wanting pictures and autographs.
