WASHINGTON (AP) — The La Nina (lah NEEN'-yah) condition in the Pacific Ocean continues to weaken but could still affect weather for the next few months, federal climate scientists reported Thursday.
The periodic cooling of the tropical Pacific is the opposite of the better-known El Nino (el-NEEN'-yo.) Both can affect weather worldwide.
