-Finnish Teleste boosts profit, proposes higher dividend for 2010.

3 February 2011 - Finnish broadband data communication systems provider Teleste Oyj (HEL:TLT1V) said yesterday its net profit rocketed to EUR4.8m in 2010 from EUR416,000 in 2009 and it lifted its dividend proposal.

Earnings per share (EPS) increased more than ten times to EUR0.27 from EUR0.02. The company's board of directors will propose a dividend of EUR0.12 per share for 2010, up from the EUR0.08 paid in 2009.

Net sales surged by 18.5% to EUR167.8m. Teleste said that EUR20.4m, or 12.2%, of the sales came from the acquisitions made in 2009.

Operating profit jumped to EUR7.4m in 2010 from EUR2.5m in 2009 due to an increase in the sales of the Video and Broadband Solutions devision, efficient control on material costs and cost adaptation.

Orders increased by 10.7% year-on-year to EUR167.2m in 2010. The contribution related to the acquisitions was EUR 20.4m.

The company anticipates its 2011 net sales to increase slightly and the operating profit to improve somewhat over the 2010 level.
